According to the IEEE802.3ba standards and its definitition of stressed receiver sensitivity for LR4 and ER4.
In standard requires to stress the optical signal by
- Sinusoidal jitter(SJ）
- J2, J9(RJ)
- Sinusoidal Vertical Eye Closure(VEC)
- Pattern PRBS31 or scrambled idle
